Privacy Laws

On the 21/12/2001 new privacy laws became effective in Australia. These laws are to protect the rights of individuals and how their information is stored and used. All our new patient records are stored electronically and are available to all Doctors and Nurses at this clinic for continuity of care.

The information is protected by passwords and firewalls put in place by our accredited IT professional. Access is not available to any organization outside our clinic and information is not provided to an outside body without written consent by the patient.

The act also allows for patients to access their notes with their Doctor within the confines of an appointment.
